    Kendra, I found that photo really interesting because it’s part of an (arguably sexist) tradition of conflating factories/mass production with women’s bodies. (There’s a mid-19th century Melville story whose name I can’t remember that really exposes those anxieties.) The photo’s plastic legs for making stockings, and the women workers behind them literalize, expose and even deconstruct that ideology. But yeah, the image is also visually poetic. And funny you should mention Yann Tiersen…

    i want to see the revised wendy & lisa movie- hahaha!
    i love the music today- so beautiful and fits my mood.
    the stockings photo got my attention first. (probably because I am selling that porcelain glove mold)- there is something really romantic about that photo. why?
